There are 9 hectares in the farm in use for cherry trees. With 10.000 existing plants pest treatments are rarely needed (always with natural products and under strict supervision by the European Union). Surveys about the soil, the weather, the water for irrigation and consumption, altimetry and other subjects are constantly made, and all the obtained data is prudently registered, whith the control of a dedicated agricultural expert. Even in previous days before the harvest, cheries get a residue control in order to assure thir purity. The breeding method applied in the farm is known as "espalderas" , a technique that allows the manipulation of light and fresh air every single branch.

Four varieties of cherry trees are grown al Las Bardas: Bing, Lapins, Stella, and Newstar. By the time of harvesting, fruits are pre-selected right al the field, and after the piking they are classified according to quality , size and colour standards , so later they can be packed ( meeting customer´s specifications ) and stores in cold-storage rooms.
